Big Fish

Postby Chevalier Bayard » Sat 06 Mar, 2004 03:52

I've seen tonight at last, Tim Burton's Big Fish.

Image

Let's not waste time ... this movie is a MASTER PIECE !!  :bounce:

I think that in Tim Burton's filmography, the clothest to Big Fish is nonetheless than Ed Wood. Like this one, Big Fish is a lot more mature...

I'm a hudge Tim Burton's fan and till then, he has never disapointed me (even if I hadn't found Tim Burton's touch in Planet of the Apes). But this time Burton has really surprised me. I've been amazed to see how the movie was playing with your own imagination to make yourself goes into fantasy while you were in reality ... I know it's not clear if you have not see the movie, I hope you'll get my point when you'll see it cause ... YOU MUST SEE IT !!  8)

Image

The movie is about a son trying to discover who his story tellers father is really. And it's not that easy as his father, Edward Bloom (Ewan McGregor) uses to mix a lot facts and fictions in the numerous stories of his life ...

The casting is great and all the actors feet perfectly in their roles. Ewan McGregor espec!ally shows again how talented he is in this character of big appetites, enormous passions and tall tales.

I'm really glad to see from my eyes that the rumors who were attacking Tim Burton, saying he had forgotten his own style since his Planet of the Apes are totally unfounded !

Yes, this movie is different from the former movies he has made but I like a lot the new direction Tim Burton is taking and will continue to follow with great interrest the career of this wizard of cinema  :)

My mark ? 6/6 of course Image

Fantastic movie, I thought it was the best one of 2003. I completely agree that it is a must see. I wasnt sure what I was in for when I sat down in the theatre, but this movie takes you on a ride that you will love every minute of.

I'd seen something a while back about this movie which had caught my attention, but I didn't realise it was a Tim Burton film.

The only film of his that i've really been disappointed with was the one you mentioned: Planet of the Apes.

I thought Ed Wood was a brilliant film, and while I was in two minds before as to whether I should see this or not, I think now it's a must see! :D

Once upon a time there was a genius who made movies, his name was Tim Burton.
Then, he discovered the power of money and sold himself.
so since 2004, he just made movies that deserved to be forgotten.

Never the less, Tim Burton directed the movie in 2002~2003 :P

Trying to correct the bug with the two 0/6 I've lost the former votes which were clearly FOR the movie
