In this movie, Edouard Baer plays Raphaël a mid thirties man who works as a "ghost writer". For his editor (Jean-Christophe Bouvet, the general of the Taxi s' serie
) he writes famous people's autobiographies. From the quite normal life of his customers he writes books describing a fantastic life the fans/readers are expecting but, of course, he never sees his name appearing on these books.
He's having a stable relationship with Muriel (Marie-Josée Croze), an architect he has met in a party and who doesn't undestand why Raphaël doesn't allow her to read the only script he has written on his own name and why he uses his talent for words for others names than his. What is he scared of ?
This only tiny point become quite an obsession and a real cause of tensions between them.

At the same time, Raphaël is asked by his editor to write the autobiography of the captain of the french soccer team, Kevin (plays by an amazingly funny Clovis Cornillac).
The football player is a real dumb and as soon as he gets out the first interview, Raphaël asks his boss to cancel this mission but this one doesn't want to hear about it.

Raphaël finds some motivation in his mission when he learns that the footballer's wife is Claire (Alice Taglioni), non other than Raphaël's love from his student years ...
From this point, while Raphaël will get confused in his feelings between Muriel and Claire, his life will become a lot more complicated !
His two best friends Jeff (Eric Tanguy Berger) and Max (Jean-Michel Lahmi), won't bring him expected help as they both deal with their own mid 30 problems even if they have very different lifes...

I've spent a very good moment watching this movie which is absolutely hilarious
The writing is really really good as it manages to make the spectator enjoy a story he has already seen thousands of times on screen and even makes fun of this fact in a very funny medieval scene about the birth of "love"

Edouard Baer gives his best and so do the other actors who are all really invested in their characters.
The directing is also very original for a french movie in the way the story is related.
I think this movie can really be apprehended and appreciated in a subtitled version for non french speaking people for its qualities already said. It really worthes to be seen if you have the opportunity to do it and want to change your mind and go for a hudge laugh

As a great cure to depression, this movie deserves a 4/6 without any doubt!
